Union Los Angeles × Stüssy, Allied Forces

Art Direction, Design and Design

For Allied Forces, I developed a visual language that brought Union Los Angeles and Stüssy together through the codes of military uniforms and Southern California streetwear. Camouflage, workwear shapes, bold lettering and an extensive set of patches gave the collection the feel of a unit assembled from different places and personalities.

The graphics carried the story across the garments. Names, emblems, flags and irreverent slogans appeared on jackets, shirts, hats and fleece, turning familiar uniform details into pieces that felt personal and distinctly rooted in street culture. I worked across the apparel and graphic design, then art directed the imagery to show both the detail of each piece and the character of the collection as a whole.

The result was a collaboration with a recognizable identity beyond either logo: a playful, layered interpretation of what an alliance can look like.
